I was delighted to visit the Dáil for an advocacy visit on the topic of financial literacy.
I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Deputy Barry Heneghan and Clir. Kevin Breen. After our talks we tabled Parliamentary Questions to highlight the ongoing issue posed by Financial literacy to the Minister of Education Hildegarde Naughton.
As Deputy Heneghan is a member of Government this in person discussion with him is a huge boost to our efforts in influencing governmental policy.
While in Leinster House I also had the opportunity to discuss with senators and other members of the Dáil such as Senator Malcolm Noonan. As a former Minister Senator Noonan is well placed in the Senate to advocate this issue.
It was a pleasure to discuss financial literacy and advocate for change in this field in the Irish Houses of Parliament. Thank you to Deputy Heneghan and Cllr. Kevin Breen for their support.
